Clouds are increasing across West Tennessee this morning. They are increasing in response to outflow or rain cooled air from the convection back over Arkansas and Missouri. This complicates the forecast today. The degree of destabilization will depend strongly on how much sunshine we have across West Tennessee. Models are still redeveloping activity this afternoon, but it may be more mid to late afternoon before the atmosphere recovers enough to support robust updrafts. We’ll keep you updated. I went ahead and dropped back the high temperature today to around 88°F. The thick cloud cover suggest hitting 90 outright will be difficult today, especially if showers and storms pop prematurely.
