Henderson Co.’s new EMA director talks plans for the department

HENDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. — Henderson County has a new emergency management director.

Drew Cook took the position in July.

Cook started working with emergency response teams when he was 16-years-old in Mississippi.

Cook said he does not want to change the mission of his department. He just wants to bring it up to speed.

“But we want to keep moving forward and staying with the times and reaching as many people as we can reach,” Cook said.

Cook also said they plan to apply for grants for new technology and update existing emergency response plans.
