Winds from Harvey down trees in Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn. — Storm damage could be seen Friday all across West Tennessee including here in Jackson.

Lela Mitchelson said she has lived in her house on Beverly Hills Drive in west Jackson for more than 20 years and has never seen anything like what happened to her overnight Thursday night thanks to Tropical Depression Harvey.

She told us how surprised she was to see the effects of the storm when she woke up Friday morning.

“I was sound asleep, and I heard this thud that was really, not really, really loud, but then when I got up this morning there was this monstrosity of a tree or trees that had fallen,” Mitchelson said.

Mitchelson says she was already getting an estimate Friday to repair her fence and will be getting an estimate to remove the trees Saturday.

She says she’s grateful she has homeowner’s insurance.
