Triple-homicide suspect appears in court, will be extradited to Nebraska
JACKSON, Tenn. — A murder suspect wanted in connection with a triple homicide in Nebraska appeared Thursday morning in Madison County General Sessions Court.
John Dalton Jr., 46, is wanted on murder charges in the deaths of his parents and teenage niece in Omaha.
John Dalton Sr., Jean Dalton and his teenage niece Leonna Dalton Phillips were found shot to death Tuesday night.
Police launched a massive manhunt for Dalton and the Tennessee Highway Patrol spotted his black GMC SUV Wednesday near the Christmasville Road exit on Interstate 40 in north Jackson.
He was arrested without incident shortly afterward by U.S. Marshals.
During the Thursday morning hearing, Dalton waived his right to an attorney. The process will now begin for his extradition to Nebraska.
