JSCC holds information event for Tennessee Reconnect campaign
JACKSON, Tenn. — Jackson State Community College held an information event for the official kickoff day for the Tennessee Reconnect campaign.
Tennessee Reconnect is a scholarship program aimed at getting adults back into school for little to no cost to them.
Jackson State currently has about 25 students enrolled through the scholarship at this time. But they expect many more, as this fall marks the first time the program will be available to all adult Tennesseans.
Vice President of Student Services Brian Gann says they are working hard to make college more accessible for older students.
“We are working on a number of opportunities around some childcare partnerships, working on some tutoring opportunities and trying to meet the needs of those students who are going to be coming back,” Gann said.
Gann says Jackson State also offers their own scholarships and all are welcome to apply.
