Man killed in Obion Co. house fire

HORNBEAK, Tenn. — A man was killed in a house fire overnight in Obion County, according to Hornbeak Fire Chief Bob Reavis.

Reavis says the Hornbeak Fire Department responded to the fire around 7:20 a.m. Wednesday on Kendall Road and were notified by neighbors that the resident might still be inside.

Officials believe the fire started sometime overnight. Reavis said firefighters found a man in his 80s inside the home who had died in the fire.

Reavis said the man lived alone, but officials are not currently identifying him.

Reavis said investigators do not believe foul play was involved, and no cause has been determined. It is currently unknown if there were smoke detectors in the home.
