Accused gunman arrested in deadly February shooting

JACKSON, Tenn. — U.S. Marshals have arrested a man accused of pulling the trigger in a February shooting that left another man dead.

Shuntoris Cole, 23, was arrested around 2:30 a.m. Friday in the 200 block of Elm Street in Jackson by the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force, according to a release from the Jackson Police Department.

Cole is charged with second-degree murder in the Feb. 17 shooting on Georgian Cove. The victim, Tevin Murrell, died from his injuries.

Cole was transported to the Madison County Jail. He is expected to be arraigned at 8 a.m. March 5 in Jackson City Court.

The U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force is comprised of officers from the Jackson Police Department, Tennessee Department of Corrections and U.S. Marshals Service.
