Dresden High School student arrested after alleged social media threats

WEAKLEY COUNTY, Tenn. — A Dresden High School student was arrested Friday morning on accusations of making social media threats toward the school and teachers.

Weakley County deputies and members of the Weakley County Juvenile Office responded around 10 a.m. Friday to Dresden High School.

A student had reportedly made threats about harming teachers and the school, according to a release from the Weakley County Sheriff’s Department.

The 17-year-old juvenile had posted the threats on social media and other students had also heard him make the threats, according to the release.

After being interviewed by deputies, the student was arrested, charged with filing a false report and removed from the school by deputies.
