Underdawgs travel to Chicago to compete in quarterfinals of TBT

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson Underdawgs are on the verge of completing the greatest Cinderella story told in the form of a basketball team.

They started as an 8 seed at The Basketball Tournament, but now they’re one of the last 8 teams left. The Memphis Regional Champions got on a plane to Chicago today to continue their pursuit of the $2 million grand prize at TBT.

Once again the Underdawgs are set to take on some of the best players on one of the tournament’s better teams, the Golden Eagles, or the Marquette alumni.

What sets the Underdawgs apart from the rest of the field is the fact that they’re not a team with the big time names you see on SportsCenter on a regular basis. They’re not flashy, and they don’t seek the attention. They’re simply just a group of guys who have a heart and a passion for the game of basketball. They play the game together and they play it well.

With the Jackson community supporting them all the way, the Underdawgs will look to put together a 3 game run for the championship. It all begins tomorrow night in Chicago, when the Underdawgs take on the Golden Eagles at 8:00 CST.
