Additional remains found in Gibson County search
GIBSON Co., Tenn. — The Gibson County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed additional remains were found in a wooded area in Gibson County on Tuesday.
Gibson County Sheriff Paul Thomas confirmed the sheriff’s office, along with the Milan Police Department, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Medical Examiner’s Office and the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office conducted a second search in the area where the remains of Sarah Phillips was found earlier this month.
Sheriff Thomas confirmed additional remains were found during the search. However, those remains have not been identified at this time and have been taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Memphis for identification.
The investigation remains ongoing.
