WBBJ says ‘goodbye’ to reporter Marcos Santander
For the past year, WBBJ reporter Marcos Santander has worked to help tell some of the biggest stories in the West Tennessee community. This week, the team is saying “goodbye” as he takes on a new opportunity.
We had a few questions for Marcos as we reflect back on his time at the station.
What will you remember about your time in West Tennessee and with WBBJ?
“The things I’ll cherish the most with WBBJ will be the connections I made within the community thanks to the station. I’ve met so many people around West Tennessee and have been lucky enough to get so many opportunities that others don’t and that’s something that is priceless.”
What are some of the stories you were most proud to help tell?
“There’s so many I can’t name one. Each story was so unique, from experiencing natural disasters to speaking to leaders within the community, to sharing the stories of those gone too soon, to sharing feel-good stories, I just tried to do my best to cover them and help do them Justice.”
What’s next for you?
“I’ll be staying in Jackson but I’ll be starting a new adventure in a career path I haven’t been in.”
Marcos also has a message for those in the community who have supported him during his journey:
“Simply, thank you. I just can’t thank everyone enough for allowing me and the WBBJ team to impact their lives, whether it was sharing their story, their relatives’ story, or simply by tuning in to watch the team during our newscast. It’s been an honor and a privilege and just thank you for trusting us to be a part of their lives.”
