Staff celebrate academic achievements at Arlington Elementary

JACKSON, Tenn. — A local school is celebrating an academic achievement.

Tuesday evening, teachers at Arlington Elementary School were treated to a dinner and reward ceremony. The event was an opportunity to celebrate the school exiting the Tennessee Department of Education’s priority list, as well as Arlington’s overall improved academic standing.

During the ceremony, two checks were presented to the school that will serve as a significant boost for Arlington’s “Drive to 25” initiative. Dustin Ring, owner of Dustin Buys Houses, presented a $15,000 donation, while Progressive Baptist Church contributed a $1,000 donation.

Future plans for Arlington were also shared by Superintendent Dr. Marlon King. More details are expected to be announced by the Jackson Madison County School System later this week.
