Boys and Girls Club preps kids for achieving their crowns

HUMBOLDT, Tenn. — A local Boys and Girls Club is preparing young girls to experience an opportunity of beauty and grace.

The club in Humboldt is inviting the community out to their fifth annual Miss Christmas Spirit Pageant.

The proceeds of the event help the club to continue their programing and outreach. Unit Director Gladys Robinson shared the impact the pageant has had on the girls throughout the years.

“One of the greatest impact that it has is self confidence. It allows our girls to know that anything they want to be, no matter what it is, they can achieve it. And without the support of our community leaders and people, our partners, those girls wouldn’t get a chance to experience the world,” Robinson said.

The ambassador, Macey Jones, said after the crowning, some of the contestants will also be eligible to participate in the Strawberry Festival as well.

The pageant will be held on November 27 at Magnolia Manor in Humboldt, with doors opening at 1 p.m.
