1 dead, 2 injured after morning shooting in Gibson County

GIBSON COUNTY, Tenn. — An early morning shooting turns deadly, leaving one person dead and two others injured.

Authorities responded to a 911 call at a house on Carnes Road near Trenton around 3:30 Wednesday morning.

Gibson County Sheriff Paul Thomas says when officers arrived, they found two people shot.

“One white male victim, white male victim that received life saving care from paramedics, but once in the emergency room, he was pronounced deceased,” Sheriff Thomas said.

Thomas says the other individual was not seriously injured.

“White female with non-life threatening gunshot wound was taken to the ER, and another white male that was here in the home with non-gunshot related injuries,” said Sheriff Thomas.

Thomas says they have put an alert out to surrounding law enforcement agencies on a vehicle that might have information crucial to the investigation.

“A possible vehicle — a 2009-2010 Chevy Impala that could be occupied by two white males and a female that may or may not have some information on this,” Sheriff Thomas added.

And Thomas says investigators are currently trying to piece the shooting together from the two survivors.

“They are headed to the emergency room to try to get statements from the two surviving victims in the emergency room to try to piece this thing together, so we really don’t know much at this time.”

Authorities say they are unsure why the shooting occurred at this time and it is still under investigation.
