Sassy Grace, Hattie’s owners say sales great ahead of holidays

JACKSON, Tenn. — Local shop owners gave an update on the mad dash before the Christmas holidays.

Tamy Lewis, with Sassy Grace Southern Gent Boutique, says this has been their best year in sales so far.

“We have gotten closer to Christmas and we have done a lot of holiday events. Things have picked up and our November was the best November that we have had in the four years that we have been in business. About 10% to 15% more this November than we did in November of last year,” Lewis said.

Lewis says they hope to continue that success into the month and through Christmas.

“A lot of people have been out shopping early, but you have the majority of people, like me, who haven’t done the first shopping yet. So I think a lot of people wait a couple of weeks before. People will get back in that mode and will start shopping more,” Lewis said.

Hattie’s owner Marcy Simpson says this is their busiest time of the year.

“The last two weeks before Christmas really picks up in traffic. We have a lot of people finishing up those last minute gifts that they need to knock off of their list. People just really get out those last 10 days, especially, and get all of the things that they need,” Simpson said.

Simpson says, so far, sales have been hitting expectations that exceed last year.

“2021 was a huge year for a lot of people. So I didn’t know what to expect this year, but so far it has been wonderful. November was great, and December started off with a bang. So we are hoping that continues,” Simpson said.
