Carole B. Stengel (Nana)

Mf StengelCarole B. Stengel (Nana) passed away Sunday, January 8, 2023 with her family by her side at the age of 84. She was born January 2, 1939 to Helen S. Cooper and Earl Beckham in Memphis, Tennessee where she lived most of her life. She was a graduate of Holy Names / Sacred Heart and went on to study at Memphis State University. After finishing her schooling, she settled in Frayser where she would become next door neighbors with her lifelong friends, Jimmy and Martha Grinder.

Carole lived the last 25 years of her life on her little slice of heaven in Somerville, Tennessee. Carole served as the administrator of Whitehaven Care Center for many years. She was heavily involved with the Carnival Memphis where she was crowned Queen of Shelbi.

Carole leaves behind her daughter, Karen Neuhalfen (Jeff) and her son, Scott Stengel (Sandy). Nan leaves four grandchildren, Nick Stengel (Chandler), Emily Riddle (Jacob), Nathan Stengel (Katie) and Josh Woolsey, as well as three great-grandchildren, Ava Stengel, Miller Stengel and Murphy Stengel.

Nana will be greatly missed and we all know she is still giving orders!

Her request was to have a graveside service which will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64 next to the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. We will gather immediately after at her home in Somerville, Tennessee for a celebration of her wonderful life.
