Samuel Eugene “Sam” Ward

Samuel Eugene “Sam” Ward, age 37, resident of Rossville, Tennessee and husband of Ashley Ward, departed this life Friday morning, February 17, 2023 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

Sam was born July 4, 1985 in Memphis, the son of Phillip Ward and Denise Jackson Ward. He was employed as an excavating foreman and a farmer who raised livestock. He had a strong Christian belief and was an outdoorsman who didn’t mind getting dirty. Sam was an avid hunter and fisherman who was a very social person that will be remembered for his positive attitude and his smile.

Sam is survived by his wife, Ashley Ward; two daughters, Madilyn Lynch and Katherine Jackson; his parents, Phillip Ward and Denise Ward; his grandmother, Katherine Jenkins; his brother, Justin Ward and his wife, Martha; and three nieces, Maggie, Betsey and Emma.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jeanette Jackson, Jack Jackson, Jerry Jenkins and Gene Ward and numerous family members.

A visitation for Sam will be from 12 noon until 1 P.M. Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Reach360 Church near Somerville, Tennessee. Memorial Services will be held at 1 P.M. Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Reach360 Church with Pastor Craig McGee officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to Reach360 Church, 11670 U.S. Highway 64, Somerville, TN 38068 or the charity of the donor’s choice.
