Gregory Christopher Eaton

Mf EatonGregory Christopher Eaton, 56, of Lakeland, Tennessee passed away from natural causes on March 8, 2023.

“Greg” was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on November 16, 1966 to the late George Eaton and Nadine Bardin Eaton Chicoine. He was also predeceased by his loving grandparents, Christopher and Dorothy Bardin, and his very special loving aunt, Olga D’Alfonso. Greg is survived by his loving mother, Nadine, his step-father, Rene Chicoine, his brother, Jason Eaton, Jason’s wife, Jennifer Eaton, a niece, Sarah Eaton, and a nephew, Devin Eaton.

Greg attended St. Mary’s Ryken High School in Leonardtown Maryland. He went there for four years. That was the first time that he stayed in a school for more than one year during his K through 8 grades due to his Navy parents who the Navy was constantly moving. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology, which was the perfect degree, because he was a people person.  He was a true friend to his friends and beloved by all. He was elected to the International Sociology Honor Society, Alpha Kappa Delta, also.

Greg started in merchandizing and later was a bank teller and branch manager. His interest in computers caused him to get another degree in Information Technology (IT). Greg then transitioned to the IT manager at the bank. There he trained the new people and he established and wrote the bank newspaper, “Bank Notes”, to keep all the personnel spread throughout the bank branches informed of current bank events. After another bank merger, Greg became the IT Director for the Chesapeake-Potomac Home Health Care Agency in Hughesville Maryland for nine years.

Greg was a true sports fan, whether playing baseball at the county level or following the Kansas City Royals baseball team or the Miami Dolphins football team or the Boston Celtics basketball team or wrestling or NASCAR, he loved them all. He loved playing computer games with his friends online. When the county needed a little league soccer coach Greg jumped in and coached his team to the county soccer championship in two years.

Greg resigned from the Home Health Agency, the best job that Greg felt he ever had,  sold his home, and helped move his parents to Tennessee to join his brother and get the family all together. He was instrumental in helping to build a new home for himself and his parents during the Covid pandemic.

In the past year Greg was gifted a beagle called “Maddie”. It was a match made in heaven. They thoroughly loved each other.

The family and Maddie will miss Greg dearly, as will his friends. May he rest easy in God’s care.
