Free event celebrating Poetry Month coming to Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Griot Collective is preparing to present a free special event next month.

“Drop the Mic: A Celebration of National Poetry Month” will be held on April 27 in downtown Jackson.

The event will feature both published and unpublished poets reading their original poems or works by their favorite poets.

The event is open to the public with no fee to attend, and refreshments will be served.

“Drop the Mic” will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at The Ned, located at 314 East Main Street.
