Prayer group visits Jackson elementary school
JACKSON, Tenn. — A group of pastors joined to pray at a local elementary school.
Led by Pastor Clarence Currie of New Day Church, the group meets weekly to hold a prayer circle at various locations across the Hub City.
Pastor Currie says they visited Andrew Jackson Elementary School on Thursday to pray for the safety of local students, teachers, staff and parents.
“Because of the oppression that’s going on in this country now with the shootings and things, and the curriculum that’s being taught, and the safety of the parents, as well as the students and the staff,” Pastor Currie said. “We’re glad to be here today, I’ll tell you I’m excited about it.”
This week’s prayer circle was attended by Representative Chris Todd, and Representative Johnny Shaw phoned in to participate.
