Police respond to incident at north Jackson Wendy’s

UPDATE:

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson Police Department says around 11:45 a.m., officers headed to the 800 block of Vann Drive for a person wanted on felony warrants from Selmer.

JPD says that when officers arrived, they attempted to make contact. However, the suspect attempted to flee.

JPD says the suspect hit the officer’s car and another vehicle, and during that time, the officer discharged his weapon.

JPD says the suspect was taken into custody with no injuries.

JACKSON, Tenn. — Police are responding to an incident in north Jackson.

Shortly before noon on Monday, tipsters alerted us to a possible shooting at Wendy’s on Vann Drive. One caller reported hearing multiple rounds being fired.

Our crews arrived to find several Jackson Police Department vehicles at the scene, as well as police tape surrounding the restaurant.

One police vehicle appeared to be pinning a white SUV near the drive-through window.

We are working to gather more information and will provide an update once details are confirmed by authorities.
