Women veterans invited to June event

JACKSON, Tenn. — A local group is aiming to honor the women who have served the country.

According to a news release, the Jackson-Madison Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution is hosting their annual Women Veterans Day commemoration.

The group is looking for women veterans to honor and give them a Certificate of Honor.

This commemoration will be held Sunday, June 11 at 2 p.m. at VFW Post 6496 located at 285 Airways Boulevard in Jackson.

DAR says those who wish to attend can email their name for the certificate, branch of service, and years enlisted to JUtleyDAR@gmail.com or by calling (731) 293-5055.

“Women have served our nation honorably and with valor from the Revolutionary War through the present day,” said DAR Service for Veterans committee chair, Jackie Utley.

You will need to submit your name by June 8.
