Several activities for kids, families available in Jackson this summer

JACKSON, Tenn. — A series of summer events are on the way to the Hub City.

The City of Jackson’s Recreation and Parks Department has announced dozens of upcoming events to take place throughout the summer.

The department says they have partnered with several other organizations to give the community a wide variety of activities to enjoy this summer, including symphonies in the parks, a children’s run farmer’s market, movies in the park, a fishing rodeo, tennis tournaments, and much more.

Organizers say all of these events have been put together with families in mind.

“Our thing is just let’s do something fun for the community, and that’s basically our goal, is to bring everybody together to do something fun, to do something that’s affordable, which most of our events are free,” said Jackson Recreation and Park Community Engagement Director Whitney Billingsley.
