2 men facing drug charges after traffic stop

DYERSBURG, Tenn. — Two Dyersburg men have been arrested and are facing drug charges.

The Dyersburg Police Department says that Saturday evening, a unit was “conducting surveillance on a residence on Speedway Street.”

The two men — Thomas Cross, 33, and John Morris, 40 — were stopped for a traffic violation after leaving the home and were arrested when over a half pound of suspected methamphetamine was found inside their vehicle.

Police say that more than $2,000 was also seized, along with suspected Xanax bars, Suboxone strip, and digital scales.

Cross is being charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of schedule IV, and simple possession of marijuana, according to police.

Morris is being charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of schedule III, and contraband in a penal institution, according to police.
