Crews respond to fire at west Jackson apartments

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson Fire Department responded to an apartment fire Tuesday.

Fire Chief Don Friddle says the call came in around 11:49 a.m., with firefighters arriving to find a two-story wood frame fire at the Brookfield Apartments.

Friddle said all eight units in the impacted apartment building were displaced, and they are working with the Red Cross to find housing now.

No one was injured in the fire. However, Friddle says a few of the firefighters did experience heat exhaustion.

Friddle says a fire investigator is currently investigating to discover what caused the incident.
