Jackson restaurant features community recipes as lunch specials
JACKSON, Tenn. — Icehouse of Jackson is giving community members the chance to have their favorite recipe featured as a lunch special.

The restaurant is asking citizens to submit their favorite soup, salad, sandwich or appetizer recipe for a chance at having it featured as a weekend lunch special.
Icehouse owner Dina Capizzi said it is a way of bringing people together with food and supporting Jackson by supporting local residents.

“It’s just my way of saying hey we’re in Jackson let’s support everybody in Jackson what better way to do that what with food,” Capizzi said.

Capizzi said she goes through the weekly submissions and chooses one each week to make.
“I get a few a week,” said Capizzi. “I go through and I read them and I respond back and I have been getting a lot ore now that people are hearing that we are doing this.”
She said she is having fun watching individuals get excited about their recipe being on a menu.
“It’s nice to see that Jackson people want their food made,” said Capizzi.
If you would like to submit a recipe to Icehouse for consideration, Capizzi said there are several ways you can submit it. You can email the recipe to: dinafaccia@gmail.com or submit it via their social media pages. You can also drop it off at the restaurant beginning Thursday, located at 112 Baltimore in Jackson.
Icehouse will post the chosen featured recipe each Friday on their social media pages and the recipe will remain as the lunch special for Friday and Saturday. Icehouse will reopen next Thursday and anyone wishing to submit their favorite recipes in person or want to try the chosen recipe featured as the lunch special for the weekend can come next Friday and Saturday.
