Hundreds take advantage of early voting in Madison County
MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — The local elections commission has released the numbers for the Thursday turnout for early voting.
On Thursday, the second day of early voting, 229 voters cast ballots in the Presidential Preference Primary, according to a release from Administrator of Elections Kim Buckley.
Of those votes, 158 were cast in the Republican Primary while 71 were cast in the Democratic Primary.
A grand total of 594 ballots have now been cast, with 348 of those cast in the Republican Primary and 246 cast in the Democratic Primary.
Early voting continues through Feb. 23. Voters can cast their ballots from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturdays. Early voting will be closed Monday, Feb. 15, in observance of Presidents Day.
