Huntingdon firefighters respond to weekend blaze at Noranda

CARROLL COUNTY, Tenn. — Crews responded Saturday night to a blaze at the Noranda aluminum plant in Huntingdon.

Noranda fireFirefighters from Huntingdon Fire and Rescue responded around 10:30 p.m. to the plant at 400 Bill Brooks Drive, according to a release from Director of Public Safety Walter Smothers.

The roof of the north cast house was on fire, and crews were able to quickly extinguish the blaze with the department’s ladder truck, according to Smothers.

No injuries were reported. The cost of the damage is unknown at this time.

Three fire engines also responded along with 25 members of Huntingdon Fire and Rescue.
