Early voting ends with huge turnout at polls

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — Saturday morning was the last day for early voting across the state.

According to election officials 540 voters cast ballots in just three hours Saturday.

“Today’s the last day of early voting and we’re excited,” Madison Co. Administrator of elections Kim Buckley said. “We’ve got lines that we haven’t seen so far in this election so we think we’re going to have a really great turn out.”
More than 6,000 people took advantage of early voting in Madison County.
Election Day is  Thursday August fourth. Voters will be required to show a government issued I.D. and show up at the correct precinct to vote in the election.
