Dyer Co. Tugboat Fire
A tug boat went up in flames as fire departments all over Dyer County rushed to help. About 3:45, Monday morning (March 7), the Lenox and Finley Fire Departments were called to the port, located on Forest Street off Highway 104 west near the Mississippi River. The Dyersburg Fire Department said they were later called and asked to bring more firefighters, a tanker and foam. Crews fought the fire until 6 a.m. Firefighters said the fire began in the living quarters, but the fire is still under investigation.
