Union City Dress Shop Gets TV Show
A small town West Tennessee boutique is getting national attention after landing its own reality TV series. Union City’s Joann’s Boutique will be the featured store on the new show called “Glamor Belles.” It will highlight how the staff help girls and women from all over the country find their perfect pageant, prom or special event dress. Downtown Union City District directors say the show will help promote a positive image for Union City amid the struggles of losing the Goodyear Plant. The store’s owner Paige Burcham Carlton say you will probably see many familiar things from their downtown and other West Tennessee places in the show. “It was very important when we first signed on to do the series that we were able to incorporate as much of our town and downtown into the show,” said Carlton. “Not only do we feature and highlight the local capital theatre, we also show landmarks such as our Kiwanas park that’s two blocks away from the show. “Our town festival, which is corn fest and you also see the local people get ready for the Miss Tennessee Scholarship Pageant which is June at the Carl Perkins Civic Center in Jackson,” said Carlton. Carlton and the cast celebrated with a red carpet premier in Union City Wednesday night to watch the first episode of “Glamor Belles.” It airs every Wednesday at 9:00 p.m. on the Lifetime Network.
