Woman Charged with Aggravated Assault

A disturbance call in the western part of Madison County leads to the arrest of a woman on assault charges. According to Sheriff David Woolfork, Debbie Jones, 53, of Denmark was arrested during the call on Huntersville=-Denmark Road. Investigators said Jones asked a woman from Brownsville to leave her property and when the woman did not, Jones pointed a shotgun in the direction of the woman and forced her to leave. At the time of the confrontation , deputies said there were kids inside the car of the victim. Deputies said Jones appeared to be intoxicated and is charged with aggravated assault. Her arraignment has not been sought.
