Therapy and Learning Center Celebrates Earth Day

Students and staff members gathered at the Therapy and Learning Center in Jackson to celebrate Earth Day, Thursday. The group gathered to mark the day designed to bring awareness and appreciation for the earth’s natural environment. Jackson State Community College students along with children planted flowers in the center’s flower beds. The students also shared information on ways to preserve the earth. “Children learn through play and they learn by hands-on activity. So, this is one of the events I think that will help them connect. What they’re doing to what they see in books and things like that,” said Angela Searcy, of the Therapy and Learning Center. The therapy and learning center helps individuals with all types of disabilities celebrate and develop their unique gifts.
