Weakley County Cleaning Up From Storms

Tuesday night’s storms left one Weakley County man and his cat grateful to still be alive. When Aubrey Parnell saw the storms coming his way, he grabbed his 17-year-old cat and took shelter by his refrigerator. The log cabin he had been building for two years was lifted by the strong winds and then collapsed all around him. Luckily he was able to climb out of the one spot not completely flattened. “I heard the rain and the wind and so decided to go through the door and duck down between the refrigerator and the shower and hold the cat down, and about 30 seconds it was all over and I crawled out of the hole,” said Parnell Parnell says he plans on spending the weekend seeing what he can salvage from the rubble of his home. He hopes to rebuild the cabin and add a storm shelter this time around.
