Bemis Continues Storm Cleanup
Three days after the storms, parts of West Tennessee are still reeling from the damage. In Bemis, there is hardly a home along Young Street in Bemis that did not suffer some type of damage as the storm rushed through Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning. A falling tree crushed Michael and Elaine Tosh’s home, landing in the kitchen area and narrowly missing Michael who was sitting at the kitchen table at the time. As a result, they have had to move out, which the family said is tough, since they raised three sons there. “It’s sort of heartbreaking. We’ve been here since 1983, said Michael Tosh, whose home was damaged in the storm. “We’ve raised three sons here. This is all they have ever known. Two of my sons are grown and gone now, but my youngest one is still here this is all the memories they have of their childhood this is where they grew up at.” Tosh told ABC 7 Eyewitness News he has received a lot of help salvaging things from his co-workers at Kirkland’s. The company also provided a truck and storage space in their warehouse for the things they were able to save.
