A July sentencing date is set for James Vaden, the one-time general manager of Hunter Intermodal Trucking Company in Halls. This week, Vaden pleaded guilty to federal charges of embezzling more than $63,000 from the company between 1997 and 2006. Prosecutors said he devised and elaborate scheme to create false expense reports and pocket the money. Vaden remains free on bond pending his July 26 sentencing.
