Alamo Apartment Complex Floods
Heavy rains proved to be too much for the Alamo Village Apartment Complex in Alamo late Tuesday night. “What is all this water on the floor? I said I do not know. Next thing I know it is flooded. I seen pirates and little toy ships on the floor and everything,” said resident Girtes Stewart. Matt Rosenthal has lived in the complex for nearly two years and said his apartment began to flood around 11 p.m., but it has been a problem before. “It has happened about two or three times,” Rosenthal said. After listening to the weather radio Rosenthal said he and his wife went to bed. However, the were woken by a knock on the door. It was the police making sure they were alright. “Once we went downstairs we stepped into the water, got a pretty good flood in the lower part of our apartment,” Rosenthal said. While this recent flood will likely send some packing. “I guess back home, to Humboldt,” said Stewart. Others said they know the routine all too well. “Just clean up and move on,” said Rosenthal. According to the Crockett County Sheriff’s Department, Highway 189, Chestnut Bluff Rd. and Ray Permenter Rd. were also flooded late Tuesday.
