Weakley County Hit Hard Again

The scene just west of Martin, in Weakley County has crews hard at work. “We were kinda expecting some bad weather of course it woke us all up we got up electricity was off,” said Terry Hankins who lives in Martin. “I woke up and we didn’t have any power I expected it to come on any minute, but we still don’t have it,” said Weakley County High School student Nic McKenzie. EMA director Jamison Peevyhouse has been working to clean up Weakley County since about 11 Monday night. He said in his 4 years as director, this is the worst he has ever seen.”A lot of straight line winds, lot of damage to structures like the house up the road, Lot’s of trees and power lines involved.” Authorities said traveling the roads was next to impossible last night after the storm that is until about 300 workers came out to clean up Weakley County and prepare for the possibility of another storm. “We want to make sure we clean the roadways after every disaster, for ER response never know when the next emergency will come in,” said Weakley County EMA director Jamison Peevyhouse. Or the next storm, with forecasters predicting another round of severe weather sweeping through Tuesday night, Weakley Countians are getting ready now. “I hope the weather man is wrong,” said Hankins.
