Stars from across the Hub City put on their dancing shoes on for a good cause, Thursday night. ABC 7 Eyewitness News anchor Keli McAlister was one of six volunteers who danced the night away as part of “Dancing with the Stars: Jackson Style”, a competition benefiting the Jackson Theatre Guild. From the Foxtrot to the Rumba to the Waltz, the stars showed off weeks of practice. Organizers said this event is much different than most of the Jackson Theatre Guild’s productions. “When we go to the plays we have a good turnout, but we are not always visiting and so this is just a good opportunity to just enjoy each other and an evening, ” said Mary McLeary of the Jackson Theatre Guild. Each of the dancers were paired with a more experienced dancer with the Jackson Ballroom Club. Keli and her dance partner, Matt Tomson won first place in the overall dance competition.
