Deadly Interstate 40 Wreck

A wreck along Interstate 40, Tuesday morning has claimed the life of a Virginia woman and seriously injured two others. According to the THP, Jameka Merriweather, of Arlington, Virginia was killed in the crash. Two other people had to be airlifted to The Med in Memphis. Investigators said the wreck occurred when the car the victim was riding in crossed the median into oncoming traffic. Westbound lanes near mile marker 92 were closed for more than an hour while investigators combed through the wreckage. The cause of the crash remains unknown.
