Special Needs Children Race in Pinewood Derby

A group of West Tennessee kids got a chance to participate in the Special Needs Pinewood Derby over the weekend. Fifteen Boy Scouts from three different packs spent several weekends helping children with special needs build, paint and race their derby cars. Saturday, the kids were able to show off their hard work and race their cars. Twelve cars were able to race for the title. Special Needs Athletics Founder Michael Richerson was excited the kids were able to participate in the event. “Just to be a kid, to get to see that smile on their faces just speaks. Words can’t explain that smile,” said Richerson.
