Counseling Offered For Storm Victims
The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center will offer free counseling to disaster victims.
Victims of the Memphis floods can attend sessions at the UT Psychiatry Clinic on the Health Science Center’s main campus. Tennessee disaster victims who live elsewhere can get counseling through the department’s telepsychiatry webcam.
Psychiatry Clinic experts who will provide counseling include board-certified adult and child psychiatrists, a nurse psychotherapist, a social worker, a psychologist and volunteer psychiatrists in training, according to a news release from the university.
Counseling sessions start May 26.
Anyone wishing to get more information or make an appointment should call the UT Psychiatry Clinic at (901) 448-2400 or send an email to disastercounseling(at)uthsc.edu.
