Man Accused in Theft Conspiracy
A Henderson County Company is trying to figure out why one of their trusted employees would allegedly steal thousands of dollars from the company by using his company gas card. Anthony Powell thought he was going in for work at Reeves Brothers Trucking on Wednesday morning, but was instead arrested by Henderson County deputies. Company managers say their records show Powell was allegedly fueling up his truck much too often with the company card. After investigating, they believed Powell was selling diesel fuel to people for cash and using his company card to pay for it. According to the records kept by the company, he’s accused of doing it quite frequently. “He might of started out doing it maybe once a week maybe once every two weeks and he just started increasing and it got to the point where the owner Jeff actually caught the fueling daily, ” said Manager Danny Little. Powell remains in the Henderson County Jail and faces a felony charge of theft over $1,000.
