Carbon Monoxide Claims Life In Nashville

Police in Nashville have identified a woman they say died from carbon monoxide poisoning from a generator kept inside her home.

Metro Nashville Police Metro Sgt. Pat Bianconi said exhaust from the generator killed 26-year-old Latoya Kincaid in what appears to be an accident.

Bianconi said Kincaid’s boyfriend, Robert Jackson, found her Saturday inside their half of a duplex. Jackson told WSMV-TV in Nashville that Kincaid kept the generator inside after thieves recently stole other items from outside the house. Jackson said the couple, set to marry in December, couldn’t afford the power bill after recently covering funeral expenses for a family member.

Three adults and five children in the duplex were exposed to carbon monoxide. Bianconi said they were examined and deemed unhurt.
