Library Gets State Grant
The secretary of state for Tennessee is making the rounds to libraries in West Tennessee. Secretary of State Tre Hargett made a stop at the Obion County Public Library in Union City, Wednesday. The state presented a check to library personnel to cover the cost of a laptop lab including 11 laptops and a projector. Leaders said the laptops are needed for those who teach and take classes. “So, we are so excited, ” said Michele Barnes, director of the Obion County Library. “I mean, this is just something we could not have afforded on our own with our budget and to be able to get this kind of laptop lab that’s going to have a cart that everything’s going in and just be able to teach the classes. We’re really excited about doing it.” Other libraries in the are will be getting monies to fund laptop for their facilities.
