Emergency Management leaders in Henry County say straight-line winds damaged several areas near Paris, Wednesday night. Emergency Management Director Ron Watkins says at least four homes were damaged by falling trees, carports were disassembled and numerous utility poles were snapped. Most of the damaged was centered near Forest Street. Resident Betty Boyd says the storm was there before she knew it. “I was laying down working my puzzle book the lights flickered-then no lights. It was darker than the devil,” says Boyd. At least one person was transported to the hospital after being hit by debris. Others suffered bumps and bruises but none of the injuries are considered life threatening.
