Just weeks ago, Mousetail Landing State Park, and many areas lining the Tennessee River were several feet under water. Now that the river is within its banks, boaters and campers are returning to recreational areas, state park officials say. Boat ramps are lined with families launching watercraft. Ginger Powers and her family were among the visitors for Memorial Day. “This is our first time out on the river” Powers says. “We’re going to go out in the sunshine and take these kids swimming today,” Powers adds. Beech Bend Park in Decatur County also appeared full. Groups gathered in pavilions and more boaters launched from the river banks. State Park Rangers with Mousetail Landing State Park say there have been no major incidents to report this Memorial Day Holiday.
