Alleged Illegal Dog Breeding Operation Found in Decatur County
Officials with West Tennessee Animal Rescue say they are involved in rescuing some 70 small dogs from an apparent unlicensed breeding operation in Decatur County. Many of the dogs volunteers showed us were being kept in three small ‘rabbit hutches’. Large tarps covered the cages and many of the animals were desperate for water, volunteers say. West Tennessee Animal Rescue Founder Shannon Dykstra says the dogs are now receiving vaccination treatments and grooming. Within a matter of days, the animals will be placed into foster homes, Dykstra adds. Decatur County Deputies say the owner of the property is Martin Millar, 45. He was arrested Sunday on charges out of Wyoming. He is currently being held in the Decatur County Detention Center.
