Body Dumped Near Landfill
Down the street from the crime scene on Aaron Long Road is the Wilkerson house. Where Justin Wilkerson lives with his wife and three young boys. “I don’t know, it’s kind of scary to think that maybe that could have been one of us,” said Wilkerson. An ‘X ‘marks the spot near the county landfill where the woman was found. That is the only reminder along the road of Madison County’s first homicide. “It’s a little eerie to think, what if we had to go drop the trash off or something and the kids had seen that,” said Wilkerson. The woman is African- American and is believed to be in her late 20s or possibly in her early 30s. As of Tuesday evening, investigators are not sure who the woman is because she had no identification on her. “We’re trying to number one, identify the body and number two, determine the cause of death,” said Madison County Sheriff David Woolfork. All deputies would say for sure is the woman was found wearing a pink sweater and a multi-colored shorts. They also do not believe she had been on Aaron Long Road for an extended amount of time. “It appeared that the body has been here less than 24 hours,” said Sheriff Woolfork. The woman was taken to Nashville, for an autopsy to determine exactly how she died and that is about all detectives are saying for now. “That’s all that we can give, don’t want to speculate anything,” explained Sheriff Woolfork. As for Justin Wilkerson, he said the unknown makes him very afraid. “Makes you wonder if this is a safe community like you thought it was.”
