“Person of Interest” in Deadly Hit-and-Run in Custody

According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department, Richard Alan White, 28, of Madison County, was taken into custody around 8:30 p.m., Wednesday. White is a “person of interest” in the deadly hit-and-run that claimed the lives of Amber Kendrick, 12, of Pinson, and two of her family’s horses. Investigators say White’s badly damaged pick up truck was found abandoned Tuesday night at the site of the hit and run along Diamond Grove Road. Deputies along with the help of a K9 took White into custody in the woods behind his home in the 300 block of Diamond Grove Road. As of Wednesday night, he remained a “person of interest” only. No charges have been filed in the crash.
